Erna Ómarsdóttir è cresciuta alla scuola di Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, il Performing Arts Research and Training Studios di Bruxelles, dove le tecniche più avanzate della danza contemporanea si coniugano con le altre discipline artistiche, in particolare il teatro e la musica, poi a lungo nella compagnia di Jan Fabre, che per lei ha coreografato un assolo che ha fatto il giro del mondo, My Movements are alone like Street Dogs, e infine con Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui e Les Ballets C de la B di Alain Platel, oggi Erna Omarsdottir è artista in proprio e si divide fra la sua città natale, Reykjavík, e la culla delle sue maggiori esperienze artistiche, Bruxelles. Negli ultimi anni le sue creazioni, di cui è autrice e interprete, nascono dalla collaborazione con musicisti, come Jóhann Jóhannsson e Valdimar Jóhannsson: IBM 1401 (a user manual) in scena a Natura Dèi Teatri nel 2007, The Mysteries of Love e il suo ultimo lavoro, We saw monsters, presentato in una nuova veste alla Biennale.
Valdimar Jóhannsson è musicista e compositore per il teatro e la danza, ha suonato e composto per la fantastica band punk islandese Reykjavik !.

Erna Ómarsdóttir gratuated from PARTS (Performing Arts Research and Training studios) in Brussels in 1998. After graduation she works some several years with some internaitonally aclaimed directors and coreographers such as Jan Fabre, Sidi Larbi Cherkoui and Ballet c de la B. The last years she has been creating and perfoming her own work internationally aswell as in Iceland such as "IBM 1401 (a users manual)" (2002) and "The Mysteries of love" (2006) created in collaboration with the composer Jóhann Jóhannsson.
She has been creating and directing for the Iceland dance company " We are all Marlene Dietrich FOR" (2005) in collaboration with Janes Janza (Emil Hrvatin) and in collaboration with Damien Jalet and Gabríela Fridriksdóttir "Transaquania (out of the Blue)" (2009) and "Tranaquania-into thin air" (2010). In 2009 she created "Black Marrow" for the Melbourne based dance company, Chunky Move at Melbourne International Artsfestival also in colloboration with Damien Jalet. Together with Valdimar Jóhannsson musician, she founded their dance company “Shalala” in 2008. Their latest work are « We Saw Monsters »", “Teach us to outgrow our madness" and the concert performance "Lazyblood". Most of their work is to be seen frequently in different dance and theater festival and theaters all over Europe. Erna was also one of the founders and members of the collectives Ekka from Reykjavik, Poni from Brussel and SKYR LEE BOB. She has coreographed aswell for the National theater of Reykjavik couple of times. During the years she has been collaborationg with many great artist such as Gabríela Fridriksdottir, Björk, Ólöf Arnalds, Ben Frost, Reykjavík!, Margrét Sara Gudjonsdotti. She has 5 times recieved "Griman" the Icelandic theater price for dance and she has been nominated several times for best dance or promising coreography at the international dance magazine, Ballet Tanz.In 2007 she was selected artist in honour at the Grandes Traversees festival in Bordeaux, France.
Valdimar Jóhannsson is a musician and a composer for theatre and dance, he plays with and composes for with the fantastic icelandic punk band Reykjavik !.
